Stores that actually sell

SHOPIFY STORE DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

A Shopify store, built properly,

not bolted together.

Shopify is a genuinely good platform. Most of the stores built on it aren't - they're a template, a dozen apps papering over the gaps, and checkout customisation nobody actually tested. We build custom themes around your products, not the other way round, and we've done it for real clients with real catalogues.

TURNAROUND

Six to eight weeks

A full store, branding and marketing assets, delivered start to finish.

APPROACH

Template or bespoke

Themes built around your products, not a template with your logo dropped in.

RANGE

10 to 100,000 SKUs

From a ten-piece art store to a huge 100,000+ catalogue - we've built for both ends.

WHAT WE DO

Your store,
off to a great start.

Everything below is what we do for the stores we build, our own or our clients.

Custom Theme Development

A theme built around your actual products and brand - not a marketplace template with your colours swapped in.

Store Migration

Moving to Shopify from WooCommerce, Magento or elsewhere - your products, customers and SEO cared for through the move.

App & Checkout Integration

The right apps, properly integrated - not twelve apps fighting each other and slowing your store down.

SEO & Marketing

Fast-loading, search-optimised stores, then help tracking what's actually converting.

The best Shopify stores don't feel like Shopify stores. They feel like yours.

Why Harri Digital

Same discipline,
whatever your catalogue.

Whether you're starting off with five products, or migrating a huge catalogue, we've done it.

We build themes, not app stacks

Every app you add is another thing that can break, slow your store down, or stop working after a Shopify update. We build what we can directly, and only add apps where they genuinely earn their place.

Real catalogues, not demo stores

We've built for a ten-piece art store and a hundred-thousand-SKU catalogue. Different problems, same standard.

Same senior team, fixed scope

No junior handoff, no surprise invoice - the same discipline whether it's a five-product launch or a full migration.

HOW WE WORK WITH RETAILERS

The same rhythm,
whether you're big or small.

Monday

Priorities set - product structure, collections, and what actually needs building versus buying as an app.

Midweek

Blockers cleared. Checkout, shipping rules, payment gateways - the unglamorous bits sorted properly.

Friday

A one-page status, readable in five minutes, same as any project.

Fortnightly

A working demo you can click through - real pages, real checkout flow, not a static mockup.

Monthly

Performance and budget reviewed honestly, the same as we'd want to see.

Themes and apps aren't the same thing

A lot of Shopify stores are built by stacking apps on top of a stock theme until it does roughly what's needed - and every one of those apps is a dependency that can slow the store down, conflict with another app, or break silently after a Shopify platform update. We build custom themes using Shopify's own templating language directly, so the core of your store is something we control and understand completely, not a pile of third-party plugins held together with hope. Apps still have a place - for genuinely specialist functionality it doesn't make sense to build from scratch - but they're the exception, not the foundation.

Questions

The questions,
and the answers.

Why build a custom theme instead of using a template?

A template gets you live fast, but it's built to be generic - every customisation fights the template's own assumptions. A custom theme is built around your actual products from the start, so it doesn't accumulate workarounds over time.

Can you migrate our existing store to Shopify?

Yes - we handle migrations from WooCommerce, Magento or other platforms, and protect your products, customers and order history through the move.

I'm happy to use a template, can you help?

Yes - we've worked with startups and sole traders from Plymouth to Northern Ireland on Shopify Stores that use templates. We'll still adapt the template so your store looks great.

Do you use a lot of paid apps?

Only where they genuinely earn their place. We'd rather build core functionality directly than add another app that's one more thing to slow the store down or break after an update.

Do you work with stores outside Plymouth?

Yes, UK-wide. Shopify stores are online by nature - most of our meetings happen over video calls and shared tools regardless of where you're based.
