Luminary began as the brand behind The Bridge of Lights, a memorial platform now used by hospices and bereavement charities across the UK. It's since grown into something bigger: a fundraising platform we design, build and run for any cause - memorial, grassroots sport, or something else entirely - under your name, not ours.
Why it exists
It started with one candle. It didn't stay there.
Luminary began the way most good ideas do - out of necessity. Our founder built The Bridge of Lights after his own experience of bereavement, because the fundraising technology available to the causes he cared about wasn't good enough. A generic donation page. A one-off gift. Nothing anyone ever came back to.
The Bridge of Lights proved something bigger than a memorial platform: people will happily pay for something specific - a candle, a place, a name - if it means something and it's built properly. That idea didn't stay confined to bereavement for long. Pitch, our platform for grassroots sports clubs, runs on exactly the same belief. So does every bespoke platform we've built since.
Luminary is what all of that became: a fundraising platform company. We design it, build it, host it and run it - for any cause, under your brand, not ours.
